Roselawn Dance focus is to offer high quality instruction with an emphasis on technique in a non- competitive environment. Students are placed by both age and skill level to endure an optimal class experience for all. The curriculum ensures uniformity, as class will focus on the same technique each week.
By taking dance, it helps to develop balance, control, posture and aids in the focus of fine tuned listening. Dance involves problem solving, pattern and sequencing. It also enhances higher thinking ability. Dance is great fun and wonderful exercise.
Merrit has 35 years of experience in dance with training, teaching and performing. Although her degree is in Radiology Technology, her passion has always been dance. She has taught locally for several studios and has choreographed for show choirs, pageants and theatres. She has had extensive training from Gus Giordano and Hubbard Street dance in Chicago. In 2002 and 2003 she was chosen as a “Top Teacher” with Star Systems dance competition. During her years of training she has held local, state and national talent competition titles.
Merrit is very excited to be opening her own studio so she can give dancers the training and self confidence needed to be stars of tomorrow.
